Most SEO professionals recommend keeping keyword density between 1% and 2.5%. Anything above 3% might look unnatural to search engines. Density alone is not a ranking factor, but it helps you spot over-optimization or under-use of your target term.
What is keyword density and why check it?
Keyword density is the percentage of times a target word or phrase appears compared to the total word count. It helps you spot whether you are overusing a keyword (risking a stuffing penalty) or barely mentioning it at all. Search engines look at relevance signals across the whole page, and density is one of the easiest to measure. A range of 1% to 2.5% is generally considered healthy. This tool also shows reading time, character count, sentence count and a frequency table for your top words, so you can tighten up your content before publishing.
